History

1858 Start of German potash mining industry
1899 Establishment of a royal, Prussian salt mine at Bleicherode
1903 First finished production - basis of the potash production has been the mining of hard salt, a mixture of potassium chloride, sodium chloride and sulphates. In the course of time, processes improved and the existing techology was modernized, so that production increased year by year
1970-1978 The depletion of hard salt stocks was foreseeable, thus necessitated new technologies of mining and processing. The realization to only use the carnallite in the long run, led to the development of selective carnallite leaching and the respective processing technology. Roots of DEUSA International go back to the year of 1890
1976 Start of drilling as a part of the exploration program
1978 Start of small-scale testwork in the underground of the conventional mine Bleicherode
1979 Construction of the first productive well
1981 Start of research and developement activities at the Kehmstedt site
1985 Start hot leaching operation
1988 Inauguration of the processing plant
1993 Foundation of Deusa Solbergwerke und Aufbereitungs GmbH
1995 Commissioning oft he Power station and the magnesium chloride plant
1996 Installation a new facility for the production of „Bischofite“ (firm magnesium chloride)
2001 Takeover of Deusa Solbergwerke und Aufbereitungs GmbH by DEUSA International GmbH, large investments funded by the new shareholders for safety issues, stabilization and capacity increase (KCl-benification, potash storage), improvement of energy efficiency (co-generation measures) with the goal to increase the production volume up to 120kt of wet potash
2009 Inauguration of new mining areas, drilling of new wells, power plant merged to the company
2012 Commissioning of a KCl drying station
2017 Merger with NDH Entsorgungsbetreibergesellschaft mbH
2020 Commissioning of a further potash drying facility, which, together with the existing facility, enables the company to dry the entire potash production
